Verna (Schorr) Bawtinheimer

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Verna Bawtinheimer, a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and earth angel, on November 25, 2024.  Born in 1937, Verna lived a vibrant 86 years, leaving a legacy of love, strength, and boundless compassion. 

Verna was a true family matriarch, cherishing her role as the heart of her family.  She was a loving mother, guiding her children with wisdom and humor , and an adoring grandmother, filling her grandchildren’s lives with warmth and joy.  Her feisty spirit and boundless energy lit up every room she entered.

To her friends she was more than a confidante, she was a source of unwavering support and unconditional kindness.  Known for her quick wit, gentle nature, and fierce loyalty, Verna had a unique ability to make everyone feel cherished.

Her presence was a gift, her love a blessing, and her laugh a melody that will echo forever in the hearts of those who knew her.  She was truly an earth angel, gracing all who crossed her path with generosity and care. 

She is survived by Valerie (Jim), Ryan (Jean preceded her in death), Melanie (Joe), grandchildren, Jason (Lava), Alana (Jamie), Jennifer (Alex), James (Sydney) and Emily.  All of whom will carry forward her values of love, resilience, and kindness.  Verna was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Schorr and siblings, Alice Becker, Diane Krauss, Joe Schorr, who now embrace her again in eternity. 

A Private Family Service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Cancer Society https://cancer.ca, a reflection of her lifelong passion for helping others. 

Though our hearts ache, we take comfort knowing Verna is at peace, her angelic soul continuing to watch over us.  Her memory will forever inspire us to live with love, laugh freely, and cherish every moment.
