Viola Almira (Robinson) Fawcett
April 3, 1926 – October 17, 2023
The family of Viola Fawcett announces with great sorrow and heavy hearts, the passing of our dear mother/grandmother/great grandmother on October 17, 2023 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 97.
Viola was born to Louis and Lucy Robinson on April 3, 1926 in Rimbey, Alberta. She and her siblings were raised near Leedale and attended school in Leedale, Alberta.
Viola married George Jenson in 1947 and started a family at the Jenson family farm west of Rimbey.
While busy helping on the farm and raising 3 rambunctious boys, Vi had many hobbies she loved as well. She could always be found working in her yard or garden in her bare feet, tending to her flowers and vegetables. Viola loved her bicycle as well and went on to compete in the Alberta Seniors Summer Games later in life. Vi loved curling, floor curling, golfing, bowling, baseball, bingo, crocheting, knitting, any card game (especially crib, poker, and whist). Viola loved her Toronto Blue Jays and rarely missed watching a game! Vi was a faithful scorekeeper and a fan to the Last West Ball Team for many years and could found on the field, glove in hand, ready to catch that ball coming her way.
After Husband George passed away in 1983, Viola stayed on the family farm for many years with son Tom. In 1990, Viola married Fred Fawcett and the moved into Rimbey.
Viola will be lovingly remembered by her Son Walter (Faye) Jenson, Son Ted (Charlene) Jenson, Grandchildren and Greatgrandchildren, Sister Evelyn Brown, many special nieces/nephews, step children and step grandchildren. As well as many friends and neighbours.
Viola was predeceased by her first husband George, her second husband Fred, son Tom Jenson, Daughter In-Law Betty-Lee Jenson, granddaughters Tracy Fehr and Terry Narkaus, and siblings Archie and Lester Robinson, and Ethel Bohlender.
Viola was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
As per Viola’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral. Family will gather at a later date to spread her ashes.
