Vivian Dick Obituary

VIVIAN EDITH DICK (RUSK)

May 2, 1933 – April 9, 2020

Vivian Dick passed away peacefully on April 9, 2020 at the age of 86 years at the Royal Oak Village in Lacombe. She will be dearly missed by her son, Bob (Laura Lee) of Lacombe; grandchildren Patti, Brittany (Frazer), Brandon (Kayla); great grandchildren Gracie, Braxton, Rylee and Olivia; sisters Marjorie Flechuk, Velma Fleck and Hazel Maisonneuve (Ted) as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Bob (2007) and daughter Patti (1978); parents Gordon and Annie Rusk; sisters Frances Wiwchar, Viola Ponton and brother Fred; sister-in-law Margo Rusk; brothers-in-law Bill Flechuk, Dusty Wiwchar, Fritz Fleck and Lorne Ponton.

Vivian was born and raised in Lacombe. She married Bob in 1955. She was the bookkeeper for Bob Dick Trucking until she retired in 2007. Vivian enjoyed watching Bob SR play hockey for the Lacombe Rockets and Raiders, watching Bob JR play hockey and baseball and watching her grandchildren play hockey, ringette and volleyball. She was the caregiver for her parents and her daughter when she got MS. She was also a great help when Bob and Laura Lee’s twins were born. Vivian loved to garden and play BINGO!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the staff at the Royal Oak Village for the exceptional daily care they gave Vivian and for their kindness and compassion at the time of her passing.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
