Wilbur Fred Linker

On Saturday, April, 24 2021, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ received unto Himself in glory Wilbur Fred Linker at the age of 78.  Wilbur was born in Zevenhuizen, Netherlands on October 1 1942, the eighth child of Roelf and Aukje Linker.  The family immigrated to Canada in 1952, and Wilbur met Hattie in Chatham, Ontario in 1953.  They married on October 9, 1964.  The Lord blessed them with five children, Jacqueline Anne, David Wayne, Paul Michael, Michelle Joy, and Sarah Naomi; twenty-one grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Wilbur will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Bert & Jackie Mulder David & Karen Linker, Paul & Melonie Linker, Jon & Michelle Bult, Ivan & Sarah Van Assen, and their children; his siblings, Andy & Sandra Devries, Rense and Fina Linker, Oscar and Alice DeBoer, Anne Linker, Arnold and Margaret Hoekstra, sister-in-law Clara, and their extended families. Wilbur was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Hattie; his parents; brothers Fokke, Lute, George, John, Clarence, and Jim; brother-in law Henry Linker; sisters-in-law,  Joan (Jim), Ria (Jim), Joan (George), and Grace (John); daughter-in-law, Christine Linker; grandchildren Jessica Louise Linker, Alexander James Linker, and Nathan Michael Linker

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre for  their care and compassion during Wilbur’s illness.

A Public Come and Go Visitation will be held at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel on Monday May 10, 2021 from 7-9:00pm. Please respect that only 10 people allowed in the building at a time due to COVID restrictions.

A Private Family Grave-Side Service will be held on Tuesday, May 11th at 1:00pm with Rev. Heath Bleyenberg of Immanuel Protestant Reformed Church officiating.
