William "Bill" Alvin Dool

Born in Lacombe July 7th 1942, sadly we said goodbye Nov 27th 2024.

Bill leaves to mourn his son John (Brenda), daughter Leslie, his three grandchildren Shaun, Garrett, & Everett, his sister Donna (Orest), sister-in-law Judy (Ed), his special friend Rosie, plus many cousins and countless friends.

Bill was predeceased by his son Sheldon, brother Don, sister Viola, and his parents John & Laura

Bill was born just West of Lacombe, went to school at the Nelson school until the tragic passing of his father when he left to help his mom and family on the farm. The time came for the farm to be sold and moved to town. Where he started work for the county building roads, he married Linda in 1962 and started a family. In 1967 he joined Dowell in Red Deer and as they say the rest is history. Bill worked for Dowell, Dowell Schlumberger, DS, Schlumberger his entire life traveling from Red Deer to High Level to Medicine Hat, then to Grande Prairie putting some time in the Arctic, SK, NL, ON, NB. Finally retiring in 1999 only to return as a consultant until 2005. Bill finally settled back in Lacombe to be close to his family.

He will be missed and lessons he left with his kids, grandson’s and those he worked with will never be forgotten.

“Never leave a job for tomorrow that you can do today” 

Our family would like to thank the Lacombe EMS teams, the emergency room staff at the Red Deer hospital who were beyond fantastic, the staff on Unit 24 especially nurse Taylor, the upmost appreciation to Dr Braganza who was so compassionate when we needed it most. 

A Celebration of William's Life will be held at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, Lacombe, Alberta on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. followed by Interment in the Fairview Cemetery.
