Yvonne Marie (Hill) Kerr

Yvonne Kerr passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024, surrounded by her family.  Yvonne loved to laugh and cook for family and friends.  “The more the merrier”, was always her motto. She laughed most of all at her late husband’s pun jokes for 54 years!  Despite having a fear of flying, she fell in love with a pilot.  Yvonne’s relationship with God started at a Bible camp in Kenora, ON at the age of 12.  She and her husband felt lead by God to serve as missionaries in South America and Calgary, Alberta.  They did so for 35 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators as a pilot and secretary.  Her favourite verses are Romans 8: 38-39 and John 14:3.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Arlene (Chris Waddell), Ryan Kerr (Nicole), and four grandsons, Thomas Waddell (Marci), Raven Kerr, Jackson Waddell (Danielle), and Phoenix Kerr.

Yvonne moved from Calgary in 2021 to Royal Oak in Lacombe, AB making many new friends.  She always strived to make the staff comfortable and appreciated everyone’s kindness, friendship and help.  

Special thanks to Dr. Halse, Dr. Hackett, and nurses Terry and Kayla who went above and beyond when she needed it the most.  The family would also like to thank the Lacombe Hospital staff for caring for her recently.  Finally, we would like to thank the Home Care team at Royal Oak for all the special attention given with a smile, a caring touch and a sensitivity to her needs, you are all very special people.
