Alan Lachlin Meldrum passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on February 16, 2018.
Alan was born and raised near Clive, Alberta. His passion was always to farm and after working on a seismic crew for a couple of years he settled in to raising cattle. Taking over the family farm just North of Clive, he dedicated his efforts to growing a quality herd combined with pasture, hay and grain. Al's attachment to horses was self evident as was his love of baseball & hockey which he played into his 50's. You could find him faithfully seated at the auction mart every Wednesday, sharing livestock knowledge with his many friends.
At age 26 he was introduced to Marlene who was nursing in Lacombe. They were soon married and made a life in the Community of Clive for their family that offers no regrets.
Alan was predeceased by his parents Harry and Winifred, and his sister Gwen.
He is survived by his dear and devoted wife Marlene; brother Lynn (Marie)AZ; children Donna (David), Sandra, Murray (Shelley); his grandchildren Justin, Brett, Kaylee, Tia, Janie, Mia, and Kiara; step grandchildren Matthew and Jessica.
Alan was blessed to share his final years with Marlene, family, friends and the wonderful staff of Royal Oak Village in Lacombe.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Clive Baptist Church in Clive Alberta.
Memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta, 4918 46 St #102, Red Deer, AB T4N 1N2 or charity of your choice.
