Luella "Mabel" Reid Obituary

Luella (Mabel) Reid, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved great grandmother, passed away peacefully April 26th in Lacombe Hospital and Care Center at the age of 86. Her kindness, strength and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was born August 17, 1937, in Belbutte Saskatchewan to Elmer and Maud Hubbell. Mabel was known for her warm smile, gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to her family.

Mabel is survived by her children Tracy (Allan) Zadorozny, Michele (Alvin) Hammel, Carrie (Richard) Person, Aaron (Bettina) Reid, Grandchildren Steve, Matthew (Tamra), Shelyce (Scott), Amanda (Michael) Sarah (Geo), Josh (Dano), Amber (Darby), Shelbie, Dawson, Jacob and Great grandchildren Trinity, Conner, Rowan, Gianna, Alivya, Kaybri, Koast, and Wesley all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Mabels life was filled with love and laughter. She enjoyed being in the kitchen, filling the stomachs of everyone she loved – an attribute she has passed onto her children. Mabel’s home was always open to family. Her love knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Mabels life will be May 12th at Lacombe Performing Arts Center(5227 Calgary Edmonton Trail) from 12pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Lacombe Hospital and care center, or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Mabels passing leaves a void that cannot be filled but her memory will be cherished forever in our hearts, her goofy attributes and spicy attitude will be missed. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be in our hearts forever.
