The Somers and the Hill families go back almost 95 years. Ken’s friendship with Charlie goes back 80 years and Diane met him 50 years ago. The last time we had the privilege of his company was on Nov 13th, shortly before his departure for Lacombe. The picture of his smiling face, holding a Dairy Queen ice cream cone will always be in our memory. In the last few years we never had a problem with conversation as the topic was always regarding something 50 or more years ago. Because of Charlie, we also were blessed with the great friendship of his wonderful sisters. He was very honest, loving, trustworthy, thoughtful, helpful, and a hard working sincere gentleman. Our condolences to all family members.

Charlie was our neighbour at Cambrian Heights for many years. We visited him often and my wife always made him cookies and snack. Charlie helped us a lot for fixing our house and cleared our sidewalk. Our deepest sympathy. Peter

I have such fond memories of Charlie from our many years of square dancing on Calgary.
