To my cousins from the Ralph Prins Family:
Each time I see or use the intricately carved wooden bowl I have that your father crafted, I am reminded of your kind, soft spoken father who was truly a gentle person with a positive and often humorous outlook. I remember too, clearly seeing that "twinkle in his eye", as was previously mentioned. It makes me proud to have known and been related to my Uncle Ralph. He was blessed with a long full life. It was a privilege to have seen him along with the other Uncles @ the Prins Reunion in 2016.
Sincere sympathy and condolences to you & your families from your cousin Joyce & husband John & Family.

Dear cousins,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn the passing away of your Dad.
It will be a busy time and also a time to remember the Dad he has been, and to celebrate the many lives his has touched in a positive way.

One of my earliest memories (I was about eight years old) of oom Roel was when he and tante Wijn came over to Andijk. We, my parents and younger brother Roel, went shopping with your Dad and Mom. I saw a very pretty dress for my Barbie doll, and would love to have that. However, my Mom said it was too expensive. When we left that store, oom Roel came up to me, gave me the dress, and said: "Here is a little present for you Annetje, from tante Wijn and me". I treasured that gift very much. In fact, it came with me when we immigrated to Canada years later.

Also, Evert and I look back on good visits with your Mom and Dad, outings to the mountains, and just a very inviting, hospitable home to enter, where good connections with all of you were made over the years.

Blessings to you, as you remember and celebrate, together with family and friends, the life your Dad lived.

Love,
Evert and Annet

Dear Family, children and grandchildren of (our) Oom Roel,

Yesterday Johan called to let us know that your Father and Grandfather passed away.

Harm and I send you our warmest condolences.
It is very sad to miss him, but also a blessing that he does not have to suffer anymore. And above all, he was waiting -we think- to be called HOME.
This past summer Harm and I were very pleased to meet him. And surprisingly he recognized us immediatly. "Hi Greet! Are you here all the way from Holland to visit me?" We will never forget this last visit in his room, together with Johan, Oom Jaap and Tante Akke. That time your dad still remembered (with a little help) the first(!) visit of Harm at HONK to try to contact Greetje. At that time your mam and dad were visiting Omoe Prins and it was clear that your dad enjoyed seeing this young man in love. And even this last summer we saw again the twinkling in his eyes.
This happened in August 1964.
And after that, many more times we were able to see your mam and dad and most of your family in Canada, sometimes in Holland too!
We will remember Oom Roel, your Dad, as a very kind, gentle person loved by his family, friends and the people arround him.

Our thouhgts are with you all, especially this coming Friday.

Love, Harm and Greetje
