David Peter Chomoway

August 14, 1939 - October 20, 2017

David passed away peacefully at the Lacombe hospital October 20, 2017 at the age of 78, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.

He was born in Bruno, Saskatchewan August 14, 1939, the first of 5 children, Genevieve (Myron), Leona (Philip), Marion (Blaine), and Marjory to Mike and Rose Chomoway.

David married Faye Chomoway and her two sons, Scott and Shawn Leonard on August 15, 1970. Together David and Faye were blessed with their daughter Susan to complete their family.

David is survived by his loving wife, Faye of 47 years their daughter Susan (Greg Prins) and there 3 children, Bowen (Krystal), Peyton (Brandon) and Tavia (Steven). Their son, Shawn Leonard (Margaret) and their 3 children Andy (Amanda), Shawn Jr and Mary. Their son, Scott Leonard and his 3 children Michael (Misty), Scotty (Krista), and Tiffany. David is also survived by his 21 very special great grandchildren. David was truly blessed to have so many children, grand children, and great grandchildren, they all meant so very much to him. David was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Rose Chomoway and many aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life for David will be at the Lacombe Royal Canadian Legion (5138-49 Street) on Friday October 27, 2017 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lacombe Royal Canadian Legion or the Lacombe Palliative Care Society.
