EVANS

Bob passed away on September 11, 2016 in Lacombe, Alberta, at the age of 95.  Bob was born in Nanticoke, Ontario in 1921 to Harold and Pearl Evans.
He moved with his family and cousin Lourane, to Federal, Alberta in 1928. His brother Jack was born in 1932 and the family moved to Chigwell in 1936.
Bob signed up for the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and spent time in England, Gibraltar and Italy.

When Bob returned to Canada he bought a farm east of Blackfalds and married Grace (Herman) in December of 1946. Bob and Grace had two sons, Scott married Joy and John married Karen. Sadly, Grace passed away in 1992.
Following his career as a manager of the Red Deer Regional Airport, Bob moved off the farm to live in Gull Lake where he enjoyed retirement.

In 2005, Bob moved back to Lacombe and married his wife Vera Brick. More recently Bob has been living in a care home with the support of his family. Bob’s greatest joy in the last few years came from seeing his three grand-daughters; Danielle (Larry) Romanzin, Carla (Taras) Babiuk, Christy (Chris) Lenz, his eight great-grandchildren; Evan and Wyatt Romanzin, Nikolai, Mikayla, Gavin and Isaac Babiuk, and Matthew and Sarah Lenz.
We have been blessed to hear Bob’s many stories and experiences from his life that brought history alive, fueling the imagination of his legacy.

Bob is survived by his 2 sons Scott (Joy) and John (Karen), three grand-daughters, eight great-grandchildren, Vera and her family, his brother Jack, sister-in-law Joyce King, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at The Royal Oak Manor in Lacombe for their care and compassion shown to Bob.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday October 1, 2016 at St. Andrew’s United Church (5226 51 Ave, Lacombe, AB), with a time of fellowship to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 79 (5138 49 St, Lacombe, AB T4L 1J2) or the donor's charity of choice.
